Well, friends - it’s finally snowing here in Virginia! I’ve been waiting to see some flurries of some sort since Christmas, and I seem to have gotten my wish. So, what better way to prime the cozy night in, than with a day full of painting? This year, I want to focus on a variety of cat types - (and I don’t say breeds on purpose because, well, cats come in all shapes and sizes, colors and temperaments :D). One thing I’ve noticed over the years is how buyers identify with the paintings they purchase; it usually reminds them of their very own kitty somehow! I love hearing stories from them; and I still have letters from some!
Anyway, so I wanted to start out the year with a fluff-ball Persian-type cat painting. This is (obviously) still a #workinprogress but I hope you will enjoy seeing the transition from a few layers of paint to a finalized portrait. I love using bright colors - and it’s always the eyes that are my favorite. If not the eyes, then what makes the cat so mysterious?
So, as I wait for my pizza (yes, making pizza in the oven right now), I decided to check out a few markets to potentially show at this year…I’m thinking Pennsylvania, Virginia, Maryland, New York - have any suggestions? Let me know in the comments below!
Over and ‘meow-t,’
